Collection for fire victims
Donations are being accepted for the mother who saved her two children, but lost everything in the triple decker apartment fire. Donations of any kind are being accepted including housewares, appliances, furniture, clothing, and cash. Donations may be dropped off on Nov. 15 at 43 Chace Hill Road, Sterling, or 7 Inwood Drive, Rutland. For more information, call Shelly at (508) 989-8239.

Philp J. Weihn 8th Annual Turkey Chase 5k
A challenging, well marked, 5K/3.1m course through the scenic streets of Clinton, MA. All proceeds from the race go to the Philip J Weihn Youth Foundation, Inc. Philip J Weihn Youth Foundation is a not for profit organization whose mission to enrich the lives of the youth of Clinton and surrounding towns. The race takes place Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 2008 at 8:00am, and starts at St. John's Gym, 149 Chestnut St. Pre-race registration is at St John's Gym at 6:00am. Free t-shirts to the first 200 registered runners. To ensure a t-shirt it is highly recommended to pre-register before November 23, 2007. Pre-entry fee: $15.00, Race-day fee: $20.00. Painting raffle
The oil painting of Central Park’s Foster Fountain, by local artist Cheryl Parabicoli, is on display at her store, Tinker’s Cart. Raffle tickets, to benefit The Item Appeal, are available at The Item, 156 Church St. and Tinker’s Cart, 787 Main St. Tickets are $1 each, six for $5. The drawing is Dec. 1.
